6th College Orientation - Do I have to go?

6th college is holding a mandatory transfer student orientation this Friday. You get your ID card that day, but I assume you could get it another time. Does anyone know why they make this mandatory? What can they do to me if I don't attend?

They might keep you from registering for classes or something like that? But, why would you want to start your experience at UCSD on the wrong foot anyways? If they made it mandatory, its because they think it's necessary. I'm sure you can get an ID any time but maybe its a real pain in the ass process, maybe there's long lines when it is open etc etc. If you can't attend for personal reasons just call them up and ask them. Don't make decisions based on assumptions.

typically, orientation is a complete waste of time.
