7 AP's Senior Year, do colleges care? can u possibly chance me too?

Hi guys,

So by the end of Junior year, i will have taken 8 AP classes( World, AP Envio, AP Psych, AP Ush History, AP human geo, AP stats, AP engglish, AP Chemistry)

senior year the scedule that i want to do is

AP Bio
AP Phys. B
AP comp sci
AP eng
AP gopo
AP calc AB
AP Micro Macro

I have my doubts about taking physics B with all the other classes and i might do euro if i am not convinced i can do it.

Also is it really worth it when it comes to college acceptance things. ?
Should I consider taking a more interesting class like AP art history

I dont really have a lot of extracurriculars,

i plan on applying to Duke, Chapel Hill. Wakeforest, and possibly to Rice, Vanderbilt, uni. of chicago, and possibly an Ivy. idk.

im ranked 8th right now , with 3 B's
oh, is it bad that i have 3 b's right now? in stats, human geo and eng. i know its pretty sad.

please let me know !

My son took 14 AP classes in college.

He also did not have much in the way of ECs.

I don’t think all those AP classes did him much good last year in the college admissions process.

The colleges evidently didn’t care.

I would advise you NOT to take such a heavy schedule, and to take only those AP courses in subjects you are good at.

You can do more harm than good by taking too many AP classes.

oops

I meant that he took 14 AP classes in high school. Not college.

Colleges like to see you take AP classes, but not take every AP class your school offers in an attempt to raise you rank and cushion your application. And it won’t matter how many you took, but how well you performed.
Are you actually interested in those subjects or are you just trying to look good? You’re probably going to kill yourself taking a full schedule of APs. I’d suggest not doing that and take CC courses instead. And you will get college credit for 5 out of those 15 or even less at top schools.

If you’re doing it for a challenge because regular classes at your school are just not challenging enough, than go ahead but taking all of those just makes you seem desperate.

and lol 3 b’s in your high school career won’t kill you

I am actually very interested in AP BIO, and I think that Micro/Macro is useful. Gopo is just a joke class. I am not a huge fan of AP Calc but i have to take it eventually for a career in medicine. I decided to take that class at my homeschool, so that i would have a better opportunity of getting tutoring help instead of going to our local career center. I dont really have an interest in AP Comp Sci, but my dad does programming so if i need help, i can always ask my dad i guess. I would really be fine taking all those classes, it is just physics that scares me. idk. i might just do it to cushion my rank and qpa. even if it doesn’t help with college, i would still like to brag about my rank to my future children. haha. planning to set the bar high. oh well. thanks though. I really appreciate your thoughts!
