7 Year Med Programs

<p>This is for my younger brother who is currently a junior in HS and has plans to go into medicine.</p>

<p>Personally, I'm not too familiar with 7 year med programs. Can anyone tell me the advantages and the disadvantages? How competitive are they to get in? I know at my alma mater we did have a 7 year program but they only accepted about 20-25 students with very high stats. Is this true for all of the schools?</p>

<p>The most advantage someone has is with their instate state programs reserving seats only for instate.</p>
