<p>Thanks for pointing that out. One of the most brilliant people I've met is on that list. (He was a grad student at Caltech when I knew him - at Stanford now.)</p>

<p>Neat. One of my Williams College classmates is on the list, too. An incredibly smart guy.</p>

<p>The researcher who developed Gleevec (first molecularly targeted cancer drug) is on the list -- one day he will get a Nobel Prize. He's the guy who keeps me around to watch my kids grow up! :)</p>

<p>UW Madison has 2 people, one a woman who joined the Chemistry dept in '91, 20 years too late for me- women in science have more role models/mentors than in my day...</p>

Thanks! This researcher has led the way for a lot of other folks who are now developing targeted chemo therapies, and so his work is saving a lot more people than just those who benefited directly from his research. He still sees patients, too -- I have never met him, but a number of folks I know have, and all reports are that he is a terrific, humble guy.</p>
