What is this $7500 scholarship?

Daughter got 7500 a year. Gpa 5.2 / act 30.

My son was accepted with $7,500/yr scholarship. The scholarship was specific to the school of Engineering.

Question: what if he changes his mind and wants to pursue a degree in Business. Is the $7,500 still offered? That will be weighed into his decision.

My understanding is that the scholarship is not school specific, but based on grades, class rank and test scores.

I don’t think it is school specific either as my son was accepted into the school of engineering and received $15,000. NC student. When he received $ from Alabama - he received a specific amount and then a few weeks later he received $10,000 more specifically for engineering.

My OOS son received $15,000 per year, Pre-Business. His ACT was 33, A student with AP classes.
