Acceptance Letter

DD received her acceptance letter today. Go Tigers!! Now to get the scholarships in line with her other top school. If so, she will be Tigertown Bound!!

D too! She had a merit award outlined in her letter, but will also be applying for Honors and the National scholars Program.

When did your D’s apply? Can you share stats?

Somehow I doubt there is anyway to look online for an acceptance?

No there is no place to look online - you’ll have to wait for the mail! Most people will receive theirs February 15th but if you receive a merit scholarship, you may hear earlier!

She applied end of Sept. I was really surprised that she heard back so quickly.

4.2 GPA (4.0 unweighted)
34 ACT

@busyperson1 - Congratulations! What were your daughter’s stats? Where else did she get in?

Congratulations! How much scholarship money did she receive?

15K renewable for 4 years- we are OOS

@jeranimal, for some reason my daughter does not like for me to list her stats, but she has an excellent ACT score and high GPA , both weighted and unweighted. She only applied as an engineering major to Clemson, The University of Alabama, and Mississippi State University. She quickly ruled out Mississippi State since we are from Mississippi. She says she wants something different. The University of Alabama has offered full OOS tutition plus an additional $2500 per year plus alumni scholarships since I am a graduate from there. It will be hard to match Alabama’s offer, but she loves Clemson’s engineering program and the campus. But she also likes Alabama’s program and the campus so lots of decisions to be made.

Clemson’s Engineering program is ranked higher than Alabama’s program, but she will have to decide if the extra money it will cost to attend Clemson will be worth it in the long run. I had asked previously on CC about the chances of receiving additional scholarships. She will need to know that before she can really make a decision. An OOS tution waiver would help too. She plans to apply for honors as well, but it costs $400 more per semester, so that is just additional money.

Congrats all! Clemson is a great school, esp for engineering. My D was just accepted too. Now waiting to hear about NSP.

@busyperson1‌ I totally understand. My daughter is pursuing nursing and was also offered full OOS from Alabama. Big difference for her is that Clemson has direct entry nursing whereas at Bama, she has to apply to nursing as a junior.

Either way - great options. Congratulations!!
