I have no idea if this is the right place to post this but here goes...

I'm an SCS freshman - this spring I have the option of not taking 76-101 and taking some other (designated) course - I was looking at 76-221 Books You Should Have Read By Now - looks interesting. The professor is Alan Kennedy.

Does anyone know anything about this class? And/or the professor?

The 76-101 topics look absolutely dreadful...

His FCEs don't look particularly good or bad. I don't know anyone who's taken the class, but I hear the professor for one of the Shakespeare courses you can take instead of 76-101 is really good.

yeah 75-247 Shakespeare Comedies and Romance. Prof. Witmore's FCEs are really good. Does anyone know if this class is a lot of work? Like TONS and TONS of papers? I'm taking...

15-251 Great Theoretical Ideas of CS (this class will kill me)
82-235 Intensive Intermediate Chinese
21-259 Calc 3D (or should I take Matrix?)
15-111 Intermediate Programming

I am afraid that I won't have time to manage those classes as well as an upperlevel writing course... the topic is pretty interesting (much better than the 76101 topics I think) though.

What's the procedure for checking FCE's? Do you have
to be a registered student already? My son will be
a student next year & this would be an interesting
feature to access.Thanks.

fce.andrew.cmu.edu

but you need to be registered student to access the fce's !!

ratemyprofessor.com and similar sites can be interesting, though not necessarily accurate. It appears that the psychology department at CMU is quite good looking, based on the reviews.

Shakespeare is two papers and a final if I remember correctly. you also have the option of rewriting your paper for regrading if unsatisfied with the original grade. she also brings trays of snacks (GOOD snacks, like cookies, pastries, etc) for the final...pretty awesome

which shakespeare class are you talking about? the one about tragedies? the one offered in the spring is about comedies and romances.

the professor who's teaching it in the spring is michael witmore if i remember correctly ^_^
