7800+ applicants!!

Did anyone else receive a letter from Middlebury in the email that detailed the admissions process at Middlebury?? It states that over 7800 applicants applied this year!

It's a nice letter, describing how admissions decisions are made and how selective Middlebury has to be. To me, it's a reminder of how competitive Middlebury is, but it's also somewhat alleviating as it states that many applicants are qualified, and that a rejection/deferral/waitlist is not at all statement of "you're not good enough."

Did anyone else get this letter? It says it's addressed to all applicants to the class of 2012...What do you guys think of it?

I got it. Quite honestly, it was almost reassuring to know that just because someone might not be accepted (at least not directly, ie deferral/waitlist), we're not total failures or anything. It's good to know :) Especially if you're waiting on pins and needles like I am...

dude, i feel the same way tackycat. if im rejected from middlebury, i know it's not because im a failure.

gah, the wait is excruciating though..

yeah got the same letter...

Yeah, I also received the letter and a second one also

^the one addressed to the parents of applicants you mean? We got that one in the mail today too.

I got it too... does anyone know if midd sends a big package if you get accepted? or only a letter? I really don't want to get disappointed in a small envelope before I even open it..

Well you know you can check online, but the mailed letter was full size, but slim, containing a slender folder. The regular letter might be different, though.

I got both a letter to me and a letter to my parents. In some ways it was reassuring, but I'm still counting down the days! As of today, we have 35 days left until the decision!
