Are you a fan of college-themed movies? If yes, then youre probably already familiar with many of the stereotypes regarding life on campus. CollegeView has put together a list of 8 professors you might come across in college.

Check out the list and let me know if it applies to you!

I have to add another, the brilliant but heavily accented and thus incomprehensible teacher from abroad. I think most campuses have one. He’s an internationally renowned expert in his field but half the time you have no idea what he’s saying. Those who have an ear for accents will learn a ton. The rest of the class, well…

70 year old semi-retired prof reminded me of Jimmy Stewart. Shocked when I saw him emerge from the Science Hall in a full set leathers and jump on a Harley.

My BC Calculus teacher in my highschool was once telling our class to straighten up and appreciate him one day when everyone was goofing around, and then told us that he might be the only native english speaking math teacher we might ever have in our life. Lol

What about the one you have a crush on, because they are rather uniquely endearing/attractive? Well, I guess all 8 types could potentially be attractive :)

I can kind of fit most of my older colleagues into one of the categories on this list (one of my senior mentors is The World’s Most Interesting Man who literally says things like, “When the Duke/Countess/Baron called me yesterday…”) but those of us who are younger fit more into categories like “The Single Workaholic,” “The Family Juggler,” and “The Accidental Pillar of the Community.” LOL

This brought back memories! I had The World’s Most Interesting Man back in 1976 - he actually had taught my parents when they were in college, too. He taught Modern Plays, and had seen most of the original productions. Fascinating man, mild-mannered and humble, but I could listen to him all day.

Oh man. That was my calculus professor last quarter.

While I haven’t had all those yet (seeing as I just completed my first year), I’ve had quite a few World’s Most Interesting Man candidates. One of them was a combination of that and The Hippie, which made for a pretty interesting class.

I had the world’s most interesting man for architectural design (poor guy - it was a class for structural engineering students, who aren’t very artistic as a rule). He was a pilot in WWII. Spent time in a POW camp. Went on to become an architect of some renown - he was the architect in residence in Williamsburg for awhile. He passed away a few months ago. RIP, Mr. George!
