Math is really easy for an Asian male like myself. 800 ez yo. You just gotta double check and don't make stupid mistakes. It's like middle school level "math".

Oh, agreed. I just have this enormous tendency to make dumb mistakes. For example in a math test in my junior year, we were doing some calc something or other and I did everything right, until I got to the end when I had to add 15 and 9. I got 14. I'm that bad.

Yeah, it's easy to make mistakes on the SAT math or think too fast because of time restraints, but with just a little practice, you should be able to overcome the constant errors; if you keep on making mistakes, though, that pretty much signifies you're not as proficient in math as you think.

Haha... good thing I'm into college.

hmm. i think the key to getting an 800 on any section is not needing to study all that much for it. you need the raw ability. like, i could never get an 800(or even over a 700, who am i kidding here lol) on math because i just never had that juch natural talent and can't avoid all the tricks. all of the math 800s say it's easy math they didn't need to study, etc. i never had any problem with vocab and without learning any new words got an 800 on CR.
but of course, studying is always good if you're not such a great tester. just don't ask some of the kids who got 800s for advice.

800 W, no prep. I just naturally understand English the way some people understand M.

Reading 17-19C philosophy really screwed up my grammar, so I'm going to have to relearn a lot of it to get a 800 on the writing section....Nietzsche didnt follow any grammar rules cause he thought they were for morons, so he just wrote his thoughts as he thought them

800 M and 800 W... how I got the writing score, I don't know...

I dunno, I make stupid mistakes a lot, even with practice, but I wouldn't say that I'm not proficient in math - I've qualified for the AIME 3 years already, and I still have 2 more years to go.

I hit an 800 on W thinking I did horribly, math 8 was, once again, the whole issue of raw ability. My question is, if you're going to expend an effort to study, lets say from a theoretical ground zero, which one would it be...?

And for the record, lol I dont believe any race has intrinsic ability over another...just a superb modus operandi :-

t3hl337n3wb what time do you actually have to check your work? The SAT is like a non stop bullet train

&& even if you your vocabulary isn't that high, There should be context clues that give you a hint to the answers

800 Math, 800 Writing, 660 CR. Rofl.

I like how people say "800 in Math is easy just don't make any errors or mistakes." It's easier said than done? I think that's...kinda obvious.

CR is a monster I just lose interest. Sigh I need to learn how to do it soon.

SAT math is a joke

This thread makes me want to kill myself.

For me it was CR. No prep. I guess all that reading I did as a kid helped? I dunno, it was just like logic, I mean they give you the answers right there- it's all in the paragraphs! You just have to read them lol.

Math SAT is not really math. Myself and some ppl I know who are amazing at math (high level classes, AMC/AIME/USAMO) still managed to do relatively poorly on the SAT math. The SAT II and AP BC test are more 'math-y'. SAT Math is just like tricks and speed.

Writing is generally easy as well but it's def the most boring section so you can easily get tripped up going through it...I mean really, you lose points if your eyes accidentally skim over a comma or something. Ridic.

I need to go dig a hole. (Asian, been getting 800 math on all the PSATs but got a 770 on the SAT b/c of stupidity--after all, only a stupid brain like mine would think that 20 times 5 is 120.)

This thread is actually pretty motivating .... really ....

Really? Why is that so?

without study... wow... =/

Math is hard, you 800 should come to my school no lie it retrogress you in every subject IMP math look that up and see how stupid it is and my school chose it instead of traditional....As far as writing and Critical reading, I feel like the answer i cross is right but then i think to myself it cant be that easy and then i get it wrong...For me i think i second guess myself...
