800 W, 770 M, but low CR...?

I got an 800 writing on my most recent SAT, a 760 in math but previously had received a 770, yet my critical reading scores are detrimentally low.

I'm hoping to get a perfect on math eventually, as the 770 was a minus 1 only.

But my critical reading is so low. I've gone through book after book. I though I actually did well on this recent critical reading, but I only brought my score up 40 points and it is still only in the high 600's. I need it to be at least 740 or above.

What can I do? I feel like I have an awful vocabulary, but I'm unsure how to go about this preparation. I need help. I would at least have a shot at HYP and schools like that if I could only get my reading score up.

amplified, i was in the same spot as you are. can’t give any better advice than to just sit down and do reading passages. then read through the answer explanations of every one that you got wrong. and for vocab, just memorize memorize memorize. forget learning prefixes and suffixes and stuff. just memorize words from some SAT vocab book. i did that and got my scores up from the 600s to a 770. its hard but you can definitely do it :)

Wow, that is definitely impressive and encouraging! How much time did you spend preparing (both hours and months ahead of time)?
