81-84 gpa

What colleges with a decent business school would accept a 81-84 gpa with a 1150-1200 sat score. What schools should I be looking at.

What part of the country? What size school are you looking for? Public or private? City campus or rural campus? Does cost matter, and if so what is the budget?

Cost doesn’t matter, size doesn’t matter I just want a school that would accept me. @EconPop

Does anyone know any school that would except these scores I already mentioned some but I would like to know if there are any others

Susquehanna, Quinnipiac, Bentley, Bryant?

Look into Siena, Pace, Hofstra

@happy1 @taverngirl do you know where a 81-84 gpa falls on a 4.0 scale because in some states a 83 is a 3.0 in other states it’s a 85 and some states even have a 80 as a 3.0. It would be helpful to know because due to common data sets.

Each HS has its own grading system. Talk to your guidance counselor and understand exactly how your school calculates your GPA.

But as a general rule an 80-82 would be a B- or a 2.67 and an 83-86 would be a B or a 3.0

You’re a junior this year, right? Are you still in NY or did your parents end up moving to NJ?

A lot of your threads have a similar theme. “Am I screwed if I…” You can only do your best. If you end the year with an ~83 GPA and ~1150 SAT then the schools listed in your other threads are still good options as long as you’re still a resident of NYS. If your family moved to NJ then your focus may have to be state schools in NJ. A lot will depend on how much your family can pay out of pocket per year. If you haven’t asked your parents for a budget, you should do that soon.

@austinmshauri I’m still in nys but the issue is I don’t fit a lot of schools profiles. I am competitive for old westbury that’s about it. My local schools is the college of Staten Island which idk if people get good jobs there that’s why I’m doubtful about going.

@austinmshauri what SUNY schools do you think I’m competitive for some of the schools previously mentioned in other threads don’t fit my profile so what SUNY schools am I competitive for.

You could not be more wrong. You don’t fit the profile of a Top 20 school but there are thousands of schools and you fit the profile of, dare I say, “most”.

You could try several SUNYs: Buffalo State, Delhi, Cobleskill, Plattsburgh, and Oneonta. How much are your parents willing to pay? There are OOS colleges that would accept you if your parents want to pay OOS rates.

What’s wrong with CUNY Staten Island? Are you looking for Computer Science? Their program is ABET accredited. It looks like a very good school.

They claim they would pay for anything we can definitely afford sunys. But as far as private schools go they would pay loans which sounds crazy. But they claim they will do it.

@eb23282 can you give some examples of good schools.

If they can afford SUNYs then apply to several of those. I wouldn’t take out parent loans for other schools when SUNYs are affordable.

Am I competitive for other sunys such as canton Potsdam brockport morrisville old westbury and Alfred state @austinmshauri

Have you done any research on your own yet? I just plugged in your stats and got 1142 schools that “match”. Give us some idea of size, location, budget, when you say “business” can you be more specific?

@eb23282 I’m interested in marketing or finance. I really don’t care about size cost some net price between 15000 and 35000. And location doesn’t really matter to me. And may I ask what tool you are “plugging these stats in” into it may be helpful. Thank you

@happy1 @austinmshauri my school website says a 3.0 is a 80-84 so do this mean when I apply to college I fall under the 3.0 category or do the colleges use another scale, or do they use the school the applicant came from scale.
