How many people do you think score in the 99th percentile on the SAT (1470-1480 or better on the old) and are in the top 1% of their class. Would you say .333% (1 in 3)?? .1% (1 in 10)?? I honestly have no clue, do any of you?

What are you talking about??

I am asking what percent of students score in the 99th percentile on the SAT and are in the to 1% of thier class.

why does it matter??

Statiticly for the two independent events to occur it would be .01*.01 or .0001 but we know there is some correlation between good acedemic scores and good SAT scores. We know that more than 1 in 10,000 scored above a 1470 and is in the top 1% of thier class. I am just trying to find out what percentage of students are in the 99th/99th club.

FYI

.333% would be 1 in 300, not 1 in 3

33% = 1 in 3 :)

3 out of of my school's 4 valedictorians were in the top 1% for SAT scores too. So at least at my school, there was a pretty strong correlation... but then, we were just an awesomely strong class.

when I said .3333% I meant total or 1 out of 3 1470+ scorers on the SAT were in the top 1% of their class. I should of been more clear.
