I met this 15 year old down the street who is a graduate student... He says he plans to get a doctorate and turn professor by 17... My mind is kinda blown right now! I'd like to see what you guys think!

pics or shens

even if he was being serious, I don’t think any university would hire him because he probably wouldn’t be mature enough nor have the respect of his students

sheldon cooper?

That is definitely intriguing. Let us know if it actually happens though.

Who cares? I mean, it’s nice and all, however, just don’t depress yourself over it. (Kind of like every else on this site does…)

^ I don’t think this kid is as cool as sheldon cooper. What university does the kid want to teach at? (Also I doubt they’d hire him also because he would need a work permit until he is 18)

I think the record for the youngest professor is like 18. He or she was probably lying, a PhD takes 4-5 years depending on the subject (and how good you are at thesis-writing). This person would have have to start college full-time at 8 as I don’t think students can skip grades in college because of accreditation rules.

I’m doing 2 years of college while in high school and I’m considering applying to a BS/MS program (followed by law school, but that’s a different story). I would be 23 when I got my engineering PhD, the equivalent of starting college full-time at 14, but I can’t see earning it much earlier.

Yeah, pics or it didn’t happen.
