So i've taken 3 SAT II subject tests and recieved a 770 on Bio, a 750 on US Hist. and then a dismal 690 on Lit. I only want midd to see my top two, is this possible? Will they simply ignore the 690?

Yes, they will pay attention to your two highest scores. Your third score is fine, too. You cannot keep the third score from being sent, but it won't matter. Relax.

sorry, but Rick, I believe you are wrong. aabar, read what Midd wants for standardized test scores. Their approach is unique.

One option (of many) is THREE SAT 2's. If you've taken the SAT 1 also, then they will see all of your scores from SAT 1 & 2....they will pick the highest combo.....either your best SAT 1's or your 3 best SAT 2's. No mixing SAT 1's with SAT 2's. However, if you have any super AP's or IB's, you can substitute your 690 for one of those. Again, read what they want on their web page.

How do i specify what my three tests are that i choose? My SAT I is a solid 2280 and so obviously i want them to see that, but i still want ad com to see the 770 and the 750.

Papa, sorry about that. I misunderstood aabar as saying that they only used two SAT Subject Test scores -- which is pretty common. Is a 690 all that bad, especially with all those other scores? It's more than 100 points higher than the mean. I know Middlebury only admits one out of four (or so), but if your grades are anything like your SATs, you still look a great candidate to me, even with a slightly-less-than-perfect score on the lit test. Good luck.

aabar-- they will see them all on the official CB score report. I heard at a Midd info session that if presented with more test scores than just 3, they will pick the most favorable combination (within their mixing rules). Given your 2280 on SAT 1, I am guessing that they would likely favor that score set, rather than your 2210 SAT 2 score set total. So, your 2 high SAT 2 scores (& one pretty darned good one) will just be icing on the cake.

If you'd like to limit the likelihood of your 690 being viewed, you can limit its mention in other materials, beside the CB report of course, that the admissions people might read. You could simply put your SAT 1's and your 2 top SAT 2's on your common ap, and ask your GC to edit (if possible) your transcript to be likewise limited to just that info....some schools will do this, others won't. Any case, as Rick connoted above, I think your entire SAT record is quite remarkable, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Its the other aspects of your "package" I'd be most concerned about. Midd's 75% SAT 1 score total for enrolled students this fall was 2190, so you are easily in the top 25% of those enrolling.
