A 790 among 800s - would you send it?

Okay, I’m convinced! I’ll stop thinking about this and move on to other things more worthy of my time. Anyway, yayy for no more SATs  Thanks everyone!

So this was real and not hypothetical?

Umm let’s leave that open to interpretation ;)

A serious answer from a parent. A number of years ago, my son had a similar issue with several 800’s on Subject tests, and a 790 on another. He was told to send all of them as it made him look human, and also showed his mastery of diverse subjects.

If you are seriously considering not sending that score, you are an idiot.

lol @practical

“You will not be rejected by Harvard for having a 750 or higher. Stop being annoying and please start thinking.”

minute later

“Is a 770 U.S. History detrimental to, let’s say Harvard?”

Imagine this being the first thread some newcomer saw…

My only hunch about the 790 on physics is that it means that you missed 16 or so questions. Just don’t send it to MIT. I don’t think you need to send it to other colleges if they don’t need it, but even if you do, I doubt they would care.

DUDE, it’s 10 points. It’s not like it’s a 24 ACT or a 34 ACT. 790s are more than good.

@WhiteWhale: Read the MIT blog linked in #17.

Speaking of ScoreChoice, don’t most Ivy, if not all of them, require you to send all scores from all test dates??

Nondescript, your application will be made out of various components like extracurriculars, community service, your academics, and the list stretches for miles on end. 10 points on one test, which is shadowed by 5 or so perfect scores is less noticeable than one grain of sand in a 10-mile-long beach. Yes, it is still noticeable, but also harmless. In the meantime, focus on making yourself seem like a person one would want to meet (i.e. do commendable activities like volunteering). All the stress over 10 points will get you to tear your hairs out. Instead, read an interesting book, go out with a friend; you know what I mean…

I feel sad for you Nondescript; it proves your carelessness and inconsistency :frowning: … Well might as well give it a try

Good luck…
