A B- in Honors Geometry as a sophomore. :/

How bad will a B- in Honors Geometry as a sophomore look? I am the only sophomore in the class. I moved to a new school this year with very rigorous math courses (especially when compared to my old school) and my math grades plummeted. I actually had a D at one point, but I managed to bring it up to a B- at the last moment. This semester I'll probably end up with a B+. Originally I was planning on doubling up on math this year with Algebra 2 but it's against school policy at my new school so I'm taking it over the summer. If I manage to make an A in Pre-calculus next year with the rest of the students in my grade will I have somewhat redeemed myself? I have A's in the rest of my classes...

All of your college hopes and dreams are dashed. A B is a very bad thing to colleges, it shows that you are capable of achieving more but are a slacker.

… Seriously. A B- and a B+ average out to a B. A B is still “above average”. Such a small percentage of high schoolers make all A’s throughout their 4 years (Despite what you may read on this forum, its like the top 0.01%). You’re going to be fine.

Yeah I guess I’m being a bit melodramatic. ^_^; I was just worried about the fact that it’s in a class that’s intended for freshmen.

Don’t worry bro, I’ve known someone that got into UC Berkeley with a D on Geometry. A frekin D!! Relax, its not a big deal ;)

In North Carolina, the standard track for normal students goes Algebra I -> Geometry -> Algebra II -> Higher math

So, thats technically a Sophomore class (at least here anyway). I took it as a freshman, as do a decent number of people, but I believe it’s still a Sophomore class.

Time for community college.

It was a sophomore class at my first high school but it’s a freshman class at my current high school which is why I’m stuck in it.

Your fine, a B in math won’t really bring you down. Coming from a D to a B is hard work, good job on that. Like I said before, your fine, just keep on taking math courses and trying your best and you’ll land a spot in a college/university  Good Luck.

*you’re ^
And taking courses of the summer is a great idea

Thanks for the replies. I realize that a B isn’t a bad grade, I was just worried because it was in a class that my school lists as a freshmen class (it says Honors Geometry 9 on my transcript).
