A Better Chance candidates?

Accepted at Groton and Salem. Waitlisted at Andover, Hotchkiss, Deerfield, Loomis Chaffee and Asheville. Denied at Taft, Peddie and Choate.

My d has been accepted at St. Paul’s, Concord Academy, Miss Porters, George School and Westtown School. Wait listed at St.Andrew’s and Brooks. Denied at Hotchkiss and the Hill School. Good problem to have.

waitlisted at Exeter, St. Paul’s, Cate, and Asheville. I basically have nowhere to go…

@knockoutact - keeping my fingers crossed that one of the schools will go to their waitlist. Write them notes to let them know you’d like to remain on their waitlist and hope to attend in the fall. Short and sweet - no flowery stuff. And if you want, you can also send mid term grades or any awards, accomplishments to add to the file. Again - don’t flood them with info - just a note and an update if it makes sense to include something.

I know of two parents I stay in touch with that I met through CC whose children got off the waiting list (one in the summer). So sometimes the right school is worth waiting for.

Best of luck!

@Yawjohn please let me know if your daughter chooses Westtown. I think that is where my S will choose.

@Exie may need some advice as it looks like my son is headed off to BS.

@paddock and yawjohn…
Many moons ago I attended Westtown. GREAT place back then. Visited recently and it still seems to be a great place. Westtown’s ‘heart’ is in the right place…they want students to learn grow to be kind, giving adults…with a love of learning and a love of serving other.
Any questions about it, feel free to pm me. My kids opted for day schools and a boarding school in state (south). But I still have hope that youngest will consider venturing further for if he does I have no doubt he would love Westtown!

knockoutact, I hope that you’ll come off of at least one of the wait lists. :::crossing fingers:::

So, we were only referred to one day school through ABC, and my daughter was wait listed. We did apply on our own to a non-ABC day school and she was accepted there. We’re still waiting to hear about financial aid from that school and once we receive it, we’ll be in a better place to make a decision.

I’ve learned a lot through this process, and if we go through ABC in the future, it’ll be for high school. (My daughter is going into 6th grade in the fall.) I have come to believe that ABC’s true strength lies with families who are interested in boarding schools for 9-12 grades, and not so much with the day middle schoolers.

@Paddock - congrats and yes, glad to help.

thanks to ExieMITAlum and Justayo for the well wishes. I’m definitely keeping my fingers crossed

@ Paddock - I will definitely let you know if my d enrolls at Westtown. Time for reflections now as the acceptance list grew since my last update.

@Paddock - my daughter has decided to enroll at SPS.
