A Better Chance?

Hello,

I am a Questbridge finalist who was not matched. I am planning on applying Early Decision to one of the schools that I ranked; apparently the Early Decision deadline has been extended for finalists who weren't matched.

I am just wondering if I have a better/greater chance of being accepted Early Decision. This school meets 100% demonstrated need and has a no-loan policy and I would need close to full tuition in aid. I am also a recruited athlete.

So to reiterate, have my chances of being accepted increased, statistically? Or are they about the same?

Thanks!

Your chances do increase. Since you applied thru match, the college knows that you are interested in them. Note that most finalist do not get match and get in thru EA/ED/RD. Many finalists are not matched because the college thinks that they can contribute some money towards their education, even a thousand dollars.

Okay that makes perfect sense. Thank you!
