A better UCSD?

<p>Anyone here tired of hearing all the whiners complaining about how bad the social scene is? Well I became inspired to make this thread due to a post a made earlier. People seem to love to complain but they rarely due anything to make their situation better. I wonder how these people will deal with unforseen circumstances in their job. Back to the point. I want to ask you all two questions. Think about them hard and if you feel they are important, ask your friends and bring your ideas to this forum or facebook, etc.:</p>

<p>1) What should make a UCSD student?
2) What can we do to better our school and make it prestigious in every aspect?</p>

<p>How to make the situation better? Go outside.</p>

2) D1 basketball
3) Greek scene with houses on campus
4) Getting rid of the 6 colleges, and make GE's based on majors. I can not say the college system at UCSD does a much for me as a transfer applicant this fall.</p>

<p>At least these things would make the school more desirable for me.</p>

<p>I'm just a cloistered grad student, but I don't agree with the abolishment of the college system. I think it's part of what defines UCSD, and it really doesn't hurt the school much. </p>

<p>What I do think hurts, however, is the relatively lackluster surrounding town (that is, if you don't surf.)</p>

<p>Dude, SD is so boring. Weekends are freakin horrible. The only thing that keeps me same is playing 3 IM sports. Where the parties be?</p>

<p>Caring about D1 sports is pretty stupid. I just want 4 years of on-campus housing, and i'd be even more satisified with this awesome school. Also, please remove foodworx from the campus, it is trash. Turn it into S spots or something.</p>

<p>Foodworx has pretty decent salads, though! There's just like nowhere to eat inside. And I heard the pizza was good there.</p>

<p>Voiceofreason, please do not not take cow response seriouse at all. Have a sense of humor. Also, I am at a ccc, rendering it impossible for me to be complaining and whining about UCSD as if it were my school.</p>

<p>dude I would be the last person to take your cow comment seriously. i find them kind of amusing to watch anyhow. i can be more than a bit sarcastic on occasion, especially after a few beers.</p>
