A bunch of extracurricular clubs

I know that colleges would rather prefer less clubs but more involvement, but I actually like all the clubs I'm in except two of them. I'm in 8-10 clubs this year, 8 depending if I want to drop Drama and Foreign Language because those are my least liked clubs. Would it look like I'm trying to impress colleges with all my clubs, which is a bad thing, or does it look I'm involved in a lot of things, which is a good thing? My purpose for joining these clubs is for career exploration.

It looks a bit messy unless you have significant leadership roles… But surely you won’t be penalized for your involvement.

You can choose not to include some clubs in your common app if they don’t show significant involvement.
