You aren’t getting anywhere special with C’s on your transcript, so why are they sugarcoating the realities of your “average” grade?
Would you prefer your teachers reinforce your tendency towards catastrophic thinking?
Wouldn’t not getting anywhere special constitute being average?
Considering a lot of people don’t even go to college altogether, much less at a top 50 university or any “special” colleges, I’d say that earning a C is a pretty mundane occurrence for most people. The only “reality” of the situation is that the overachievers on CC and in high-level classes don’t exactly provide a convincing image of high school performance that is likely to apply to most people.
Also, I’ll say this in the nicest way I know how: you need to calm down. You’ve posted dozens of threads asking for input on here in the last few months and worrying yourself endlessly over colleges, specific classes you struggle in, and asking questions/making comments about how you can’t stop tying your self-worth to your performance in school. I totally get why you’re worried; I am a senior right now, and last year, I, too, was crapping the bed at night thinking about my grades and what colleges I would/wouldn’t get into, and mistakes I made with choosing my courses. Sometimes, I would post to CC at odd hours asking for input regarding my chances at my top universities. After some point, though, we can’t help you. The only way you can improve your grades, and by some extension, your chance at getting into a college of your choice, is through working in real life, such as in class.
I’m sorry-- who is the “they” to whom you’re referring?
And who says that “You aren’t getting anywhere special with C’s on your transcript”? And how do you define "special? And why is is so very important that you get somewhere “special”??
And I would like to “Love” post #3. Your level of anxiety about college simply isn’t healthy.
To be honest, I think the healthiest thing you could do is take a leave of absence from CC. Not because I have any problem with you or your posts, but because I think you’re feeding into the hype about top schools to a level that passed “healthy” months ago.
