Firstly, I was just wondering, for engineering at Cornell for example, I got a 3.73 GPA (1st sem) with first year courses, but now, during 2nd semester, when I sent in my mid-year grades, I was doing very well taking 2nd year courses. Is 3.73 near enough? Considering the rest of my application is strong of course, which it is.

My financial aid woes. I’ve heard from a friend who works graduated from and works with Cornell, that financial aid at Cornell is not 100% need-blind. If you’re transferring, apparently, they may put you in a more competitive pool of applicants which might make admissions more difficult. Anyone hear anything about this or does everyone really believe Cornell IS 100% need-blind??

3.73 is a good GPA and will not hurt you so long as you make a great point as to why you want to transfer.

As far as I know, admissions in 100% need blind.

Good luck!

Oh yeah, one more thing, I attended 2 different high schools. In Canada, high school starts in grade 8 instead of grade 9 in the US. I attended my 1st high school for only the 1st term of grade 8. The other 2 terms of grade 8 and all of 9, 10, 11 and 12 were spent in my 2nd high school. Do I really need to contact my first high school for a transcript that will only show my 1st term marks in grade 8? Considering it is only grade 8 and only 1 term, I don’t see of what value this will be to Cornell, but does it need to be sent? And are Secondary School Reports required from high schools or just transcripts? I don’t see how I can give my school a Secondary School Report to fill out about me when I don’t attend the school or live there anymore.
