As far as math, does anyone know if Gruber's math guide is effective? Math is one of my weakest subjects.

I tend to overanalyze some of the stuff in the passages for CR and don't know how to play devil's advocate. Any advice on how to stop overanalyzing? I usually tend to get stuck between two choices. Generally restricting my score to the very low 600's range.

1) I don’t know about Gruber’s math guide, but Gruber’s English is really bad. I would suggest Dr Chung’s for math

1) I have heard grubers is good.

2)
-If one word appears in an answer and that word or a synonym for it doesn’t appear in the paragraph it talks about, that choice is wrong.
-If it asks what a word in a single line means, read that line and the rest of the paragraph for the answer.
-If that singe word if followed by a comma, the answer lies in the clause immediately after that comma.
-If you are given a line ranges, read the line range for the answer…but be sure to read a few sentences before the line range for context.
-DONT ASSUME…come into the test like you are a dumb slacker in school. Be one of those kids that comes into class and always says, “The Book didn’t say to do that” or “Well, you never said.”
If it says the cloth is full of a wide array of colors and you say that the cloth has red in it…that is an ASSUMPTION,( because it may not have it and the passage cannot directly support you claim.)
-BUT YOU CAN INFER…if a passage says that john is like sarah, and that sarah is a very nice person…you can INFER that john is a very nice person. (You can go back to the reading and find evidence to support your own claim)
If it says that the cloth is made up of the colors of the rainbow. You can INFER that it has red in it because rainbows have red in them!
-All specific question lie in a single paragraph, meaning you never have to read 2 paragraphs to find the answer, it only exists in one. The only questions that transcend this rule are general questions.
-Remember that the answer is ALWAYS there in the passage somewhere.

I had heard that Gruber’s was recommended so I bought it but I don’t think it has helped me much. If you are looking to review the basics then buy it but if you are aiming for 700+ you might want to look for other materials.

Thank you very much guys for the advice and stuff. Yes I’m trying to increase Math from low 600’s to 700’s-800’s. So I’m looking for a good book to prep from.
