UCLA is on my list of potential schools, a match for me. I want to study Econ and Stats.

I have questions about UCLA, but I can't exactly visit it (before applying) as I live in NJ.

1) Does it feel like an urban campus? I looked at an online tour, and there seemed to be a good amount of green space, but I've heard it is in the "good part" of LA. Urban or campus type school?

2) Is it difficult to fit into classes in economics? It's a crowded major, and with budget cuts, is anything going to change? Or just the tuition hahah

3) If you attend, do you enjoy it?

If you can answer these (mainly #1, that'd be great)!

1) Our school has its own campus in the city of Westwood. Its a great location because we’re close to the beach so the weather is great. Its also close to many shopping centers/food areas.

2) Classes, especially lower division ones, have a lot of students. Econ (and Business Econ) are very competitive, but getting your major classes is not that difficult.

3) I like the school a lot. Location, weather, people, sports, and some classes are among other things that make the school great. If you get in, I can’t stress enough to visit the campus…it’ll help you decide whether the school feels right for you.
