Prepare your points (such as coursework and success in specific classes, wrongheaded reasons why you picked CJ, aspects of accounting you want to work on…)
thank you for the tips
Well, your adviser may need some convincing
UMass-Boston? Note, you don’t need a Master’s per se for a CPA, you just need more accounting courses (primarily). But since folks have to take a 5th year of courses anyway, they generally just reach for the MA/MS.

How did it go?
well…my adviser said that I can finish it within 2 years but I have to take 5 courses per semester.
plus an extra summer course
5 classes per semester seems overwhelming,
I also applied for an internship next semester.
what do you think I should do? I want to maintain a good gpa. Is that possible by taking 5 classes per semester? I’m also a commuter student. If I do get the internship, I have to spend about 10-15 hours there. So, I don’t really know what to do.
I’d plan to get the accounting degree for sure. Try to take 5 classes, if it’s too much, then slow it down and spend an extra semester.
Whether you stay in accounting, do something else in business or end up in law school, the accounting knowledge will always serve you well.
Thanks! That’s what I’m planning to do
I agree with arc: try taking 5 classes per semester (are those 3-credit classes or 4-credit classes? Because 5X3cr is a “normal” load), if it’s too much drop a class and plan to spend an extra semester. You’ll “pay back” that extra semester pretty quickly if you have an accounting degree.
Sounds like your adviser is being supportive.
Is your internship over the summer or in the Fall? And is it related to accounting?
They are 3 credit classes. It’s a fall internship and it’s at the State House. The internship is not really related to accounting but it provides you with certain skills that law schools look for like leadership etc.
I signed the change of major form. So, I am now an Accounting major.
Congratulations!
Okay, so, in the Fall, take 4 classes + internship, in the Spring 5 classes, and in the summer 2 classes + 1 class (summer session 1, summer session 2).
Thanks! I already signed up for next semester. I signed up for 5 classes. I don’t really know if I will be able to do the internship. Next summer, I want to do an Accounting internship.
If I want to do my Masters in Accounting at Bentley, do I have to take GMAT?GRE?
