All current students describe a normal day at the University of Pennsylvania.

demanding, aren't we?

how about a typical day this week for the average student.

wake up
stare at alarm clock
go back to bed
wake up later
curse
stumble to shower
wash up
eat food while cramming for final
look at watch
curse
go to final
take final
after final, curse
go back to room
nap
wake up
curse
eat
study all night for next final

(what were you expecting)

Wake up. Look at clock. Scream. Run 30 minutes late to final. Take final. Walk out 30 minutes early. Go to houston hall. Eat spice teriyaki bowl. post on college confidential

Wake up at 8 knowing I have 4 hours until my final to study. Decide another hour of sleep wouldn't hurt. Repeat previous step 3 more times. Run to final late after getting dressed. Take final. Realize you were working way too fast because the time allowed was twice as much as you thought it was in reality. Walk out of test laughing maniacally an hour early. Eat food at Houston Hall (JCoveney I prefer the regular Teriyaki bowl myself... haven't tried the spicy!) or Subway. Talk with friends. Enjoy the nice weather lately! Check out girls. Go online and talk with people/procrastinate on Facebook. Worry about moving stuff for the summer. Teach JCoveney the Rubik's Cube. Bug JCoveney about Econ. Eat more food. Post on CC a little. Talk with excited friends from back home about returning home this weekend. Sleep. Curse Finals in sleep.

how about a day NOT during finals week?

Yeah legend you can still hit me up for econ whenever...just expect an impromptu cube teaching session.

Oh and yeah I totally forgot checking out the women.

Ok but yeah normally. Let me see...

On a tuesday or whatever, I wake up an hour or so before class. Take a shower, get organized, walk to class about 10 minutes before. Do that thing. Hit up lunch at Hill or Houston Commons, socialize, maybe do a little work. Go back to class. Get out at around 4pm or whatever. Socialize, eat at 5pm (I know, I eat early). At this point, I start the work grind. Try and get as much work done as I can from 6-12, with ample breaks in between.

I'm the kind of person who overworks on the weekdays to try and clear up my weekends.

You doing Econ now by any chance?

BTW to the OP, usually I wake up, get something from Express, go to classes (occasionally getting food from Houston in-between classes if there is time), talking to people I run into. And then I go to work until 6 or so, then spend the rest of the day generally talking to people or going out fiding things to do on campus. I don't particularly like the frats much though. There are usually parties going on in the college houses, however. I usually save work until the last minute, but then again, when one does that, it only takes a minute to get everything done :D Then again it depends on speed. Like I usually do things quickly in one sitting -- the OPIM case, essays, homework assignments, etc. I only had 4 classes though. I'd love to take more classes but it conflicts with work study... hopefully next year this will change.

so with 4 classes.. how many hours per week do you spend in class

Not the best person to ask, but you're supposed to spend... maybe around 16 or so? Just estimating off the top of my head.

I am doing econ now. I'm chilling outside of 390.

nice.. considering i'm spending 40 nowadays

I'm to lazy to describe a day of mine, since it's pretty similar to the ones posted above. I'll just say one thing: Spicy teriyaki chicken bowl PWNS regular teriyaki chicken bowl.

Ok, where's the best place to get pizza on campus or within walking distance of campus? Spiro's?

The one on 36th and chestnut, Pizza Rustica!

With four classes, you should only have 12 hours of class (unless you're doing a language, I those those meet everyday so hours years a week.

Unless, also, you are taking a studio course. Those usually meet six hours per week.

I had ~21 hours last semester. Whatevah. 12 hours would be so very incredibly boring.

also had about 21 hours last semester, 20 this semester (this is engineering)

You should specify how many classes you're taking.

darn it... I took 4 classes last semester and had 25 hours of class. yay for science majors.
