what can i expect once i’m there type of a thing

classes (most arent ridic. early), lunch at one of the awesome food carts, some more classes in the afternoon, most people finish round 4 or 5. dinner at dining hall(for frosh atleast), extra curric groups during the early evening. chill and do hw at night.

How many classes do people usually take at one time?

let's not forget all the time taken up by hot sex

Most people take 4 to 5 classes.

Is there a reason why you would take 5 classes over 4 other than you are interested in them? What do you think would be standard for freshmen?

^You're in Vagelos Scholars. 5 credit units a semester or you won't finish in 4 years. 40 cu to complete the program. I really wish I got in...

it's interest that does it for me. Others are cheap and/or poor and want to graduate 1 or 2 semesters early.

As a freshman I'd say do 4 your fall semester definitely (you've got enough on your plate getting used to college) and 4 or 5 your spring semester.

Is taking:
Math 114, Chem 101, Bio 101, Econ 001, and Language
too much for an incoming freshman first semester?

Also, are classes like Math 201/202 (freshmen seminars) just like taking an actual class, or are they supposed to be taken on top of a full schedule?

Venkat89: I thought I read somewhere that you could ask Penn to "reconsider" your application with regards to this program.

Not sure that this is fact, but I'm pretty sure that I saw it somewhere...

Sorry if this seems stupid, but what exactly are the food carts?

That schedule looks ridic Venkat. From what I hear (and see) Chem is very hard here. The entry chem and even Bio 101 I hear are hard because the departments want to weed out all the people who thought they wanted to be Doctor's but in reality can't crack it. I can speak for Math 114 as I am in it now..its not hard, but its not terribly easy either. If you put in the work and do practice problems throughout the week you should be just fine :)

btw Meng isnt even a Penn student...I hear he actually goes to Drexel and walks around Penn's campus because he wishes he was badass enough to come here

wheres that rap cd you were supposed to make for me in 7th grade? Punk

Id bring it to you...but that means walking to Drexel

Will it be better to just take the placement exam for chem? I did relatively well in AP Chem and got a 5. I was thinking of repeating it because of an easy A. If it isn't the case, I think I will just take the placement exam.

My schedule is probably looking like this
Math 114, Chem, Physics, Bioengineering 100, and maybe a language.

That's what the sample curriculum is for us.

No way am I skipping chem 101 as a premed. That means I have to take pchem and biochem. I'd rather take those if I decide to become a chem/biochem major. Basically, I'm undecided. If I'm premed, I want to major in chem/biochem, BBB, or econ. If premed doesn't work out, I want to do either math+wharton or econ+wharton. Hence, I need to take chem, math, and econ as a frosh. Also, I'm going to fail my Spanish placement test, so I'll probably have 8 semesters of language in front of me (if I'm lucky). Then the Vagelos thing comes into play if I'm lucky...

God help me.

Gah the language requirement is going to kill me -.-

For grad school, programming = language. I wish I was in grad school...

2o_o7, just take the SAT II in a foreign language right now.

Can someone explain why Wharton strongly recommends taking 5 classes fall semester then?

I dropped Spanish this year to take an additional AP science.

(also i sucked at it :()
