A Day in Your Life

How does a typical weekday in your life look? Do you get a lot of unscheduled time or are you pretty much always on the go? I am curious to both those who have just applied and those who are currently at BS.

For reference, here's a rough idea of my schedule: (Right now it's a little different, because I have about a week to adjust to Barcelona time.)

7ish - Wake-Up, eat
7:30 - Workout with trainer
10ish - Get ready for school
11ish - Arrive at school*
4:00 - Get picked up at school, drive home, eat
5ish - 7ish - Workout by myself
7ish - 11ish - Eat, read, hang out with friends/family, play on Internet, watch TV, work in the garage, or whatever else I want to do.
11ish - Sleep
*note - There are no compulsory classes at my school; this is 5 hours of mostly "free" time.

I think my days are busy, but I am trying to get a comparison. My parents are allowing me to go to BS if I get in, but they don't really like the idea. They think I will have a hard time being happy given the level of scheduling.

If you are accustomed to this kind of easy-going schedule, then an elite BS will be a shock!

Even to achieve middling grades at a top BS, you will be very heavily scheduled, will work your butt off and will not get enough sleep.

Well that stinks. There goes my childhood…

This little video is about II form at Groton ( 8th grade) but 9th and above are fairly similar- except that curfew and lights out get later
My daughter is an 8th grader and she has never worked so hard, been so busy not been SO HAPPY!!!
So your childhood is not shot- its just about to undergo a major change
