Son applied earlyish (not earlyish like many of you all) APplication in Sept 13, but it took them a while to get the stuff from his High SChool (Public-NJ)

It finally showed up as all 'received" last week, with the 'A decision has been made on your application on 10/22 and a letter is in the mail'

At first I was alarmed, my experience with my daughter was "mailed=BAD" but upon finding the thread it looks like good news? ANyone get this message early and NOT get accepted? Haven't told son about it yet. He's heard via web updates from two other rolling schools, and I thought a "big enevelope" would be fun!

Everyone who is accepted gets ‘A decision has been made on your application on 10/22 and a letter is in the mail’. If you live in Michigan an 8.5 x 11 envelope comes about three days later with a window in it that is large enough for a parent to read “congratulations”. It might take a little longer to get to New Jersey but it should come in the next day or so. I don’t know how a rejection or deferral is sent but it would seem unlikely that a negative decision would come as quickly. It sucks to know the decision is made and not know what it is. I would consider waiting for the envelope to come before telling your son. Good luck.

My D received her big envelope today with an acceptance. Online status changed last Thursday and her letter came today. We live in VT so it came pretty quickly. Quick turnaround on the part of the school. D had her application complete in Sept and her H.S. sent her transcripts in on 10/15. 2 days after transcript was sent her status changed to a decision has been made and a few days later her letter was received.
