Applcation status

When the application status says that a decision has been made, you will get it in the mail, is that a bad thing? Would they show it online if it was good news? I recall that on the UMich site that this was a bad sign, but I don't have any prior experience with the MSU site.

No that is fine.....I think all decisions are made by mail. S has the same message and we are expecting a letter any day. He is not borderline and is expecting an acceptance.

Thank you D101, when I saw that my heart sank, good to know it does not mean anything negative. Fredmar

I know a girl who already did get in and her's said that too. And mine says it now and I'm pretty sure I'm going to get in.

My application status said the same thing and I received my acceptance letter a few days later. If anything, I would say that it is a good sign that they have made a decision so quickly. Everyone at my school who has heard back from MSU has gotten accepted so far. The people with lower stats (who applied at the same time as I did) still haven't received any news.

Thanks, sarahrachel109, I hope you are right. MSU is definitely a good choice for my daughter and she hasn't gotten any good news yet, so I am hoping that you right.

Acceptance came in the mail today!!

My status says .. Your application file is complete. There is no decision at this time. Once a decision has been made a letter will be mailed etc ..

What does that mean, did any of you get that status?

What are some of your stats of you that have already been accepted?

I think I should get in .. ACT - 27 GPA - 3.5

Congratulations! I am sure you are happy to have a high quality acceptance like MSU in hand. Can I be a pain, and ask what date the application status website said your decision was made? Just wondering how long it really takes from decision to mailbox.

I heard from a girl at school today that (at least in southeast Michigan) it takes a week. So mine says the decision was made on Tuesday, and she thinks it will come this coming Tuesday.

No problem....This is a stressful process isn't it??

Anyway, I believe the website said Oct. 20, and we received it today Oct. 24.
As far as the poster who asked about "a decision has not been made yet." that probably means that all information has now been received and waiting for a human to review it. From your stats it doesn't sound like a problem.

Ok .. that's what I was hoping to hear lol. I was a little worried when I first read that status after hearing about everyone else that their decision has been made.

Hopefully my status will change soon to a decision has been made.

thank you.

"We have received your application, and it is currently being processed."
I submitted it about a week ago, does this meant they're waiting on transcript/scores?
How long did it take you guys from start to finish to hear back

mephist .. I had that status about a week ago and then it will change to your application file is complete etc ..

It just means that they have received all of your information and they are processing it and putting together your file.

It will say right underneath that if they have for sure received your transcript and/or ACT score.

What the quickest time of acceptance you all know of?

My friend got all of hers in on October 4th and got her decision 3 days ago. I got mine in on the 6th and am still waiting.
Hope that helps you gauge your timeline a little.

EDIT:

Just checked. It said decision made on October 24th and mailed to me.

I had mine in October 3, the decision was made October 21, and I got my acceptance letter today.

HUGE weight off my shoulders.

Congratulations, srgirl6! , But I am so annoyed. My daughter's status says decision was made on October 20, but still no letter today. I think my mailman is just lazy, I never seem to get the mail on time. We are in Michigan, so it shouldn't take this long!

Huh, where in Michigan are you? Because it doesn't seem to be taking the letters too long to get here.

We are in metro Detroit area, northwest suburbs, I've decided to believe that it is taking so long because they had to package the big scholarship they are sending to her... I wish.
