A Deferree Returning to Visit

I was deferred from Huntsman/CAS ED, and Penn remains my first choice school. I first visited Penn last April on a high school-run college tour, and I didn't get a good feel for the school since our time was limited, and all I did was an external group tour of the campus with a Penn student. I'm planning to return next week, but this time I'd like to get a more comprehensive experience by talking to professors, meeting with Admissions, and sitting in on classes. Afterwards, I think I'd be able to write a much more meaningful letter of continued interest to Penn than if I weren't to visit. I'm coming all the way from Los Angeles, and I'd be missing some school for this. Do you think this would show interest in Penn and maybe help my chances at all for RD to CAS? Is there anything else anyone would recommend to maximize my experience?

Thanks,
Elliot

GO QUAKERS! (bump)

Hey man

Best of luck. There probably isn't much you can do for increasing your perceived in enthusiasm (since you applied ED, they already know it's your first choice...crafty fellows!)

Midyear reports, retaking SATs, other noteworthy, ECs, turning black--those are things you should be focusing on.

But I hope you have a great time visiting Penn. I'm an IR major who has led a very Huntsman life (that is, international business...in my Penn summers I've worked in Seoul, Singapore, Beijing, and I've accepted a full-time job offer from a company in India). So not being Huntsman certainly isn't the end of the world at Penn! ;)

If you have any questions on international-ness at Penn, recommendations on what classes to find and sit in on, feel free to send me a PM.

And again, best of luck.
