@BigRed: I’ll put Reject down for Stanford since you can’t have two options. Thanks!

Great chances for all those schools, I’m sure, but for some more selective schools they might ask, “What’s this guy’s passion?” You have too many things listed and you can only be president/vice-president/captain for so many activities. With that in mind, these are my predictions:

-Harvard SCEA: Rejected
-UVA EA: Accepted
-Yale: Accepted
-Stanford: Rejected
-Princeton: Rejected
-Penn: Accepted
-Brown: Accepted
-MIT: Accepted
-Duke: Accepted
-Dartmouth: Accepted
-USC: Accepted

Best of luck for wherever you apply to!

Ohh this seems like fun.

-Harvard SCEA: Deferred, then accepted
-UVA EA: Accepted
-Yale: Waitlisted
-Stanford: Rejected
-Princeton: Accepted
-Penn: Accepted
-Brown: Accepted
-MIT: Accepted
-Duke: Accepted
-Dartmouth: Accepted
-USC: Accepted

Mine would be http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1539101-chance-me-ill-return-favor.html

Wow so much perfection about you congrats on that and all
I’m just going to type whatever my fingers tell me to

Just a few days left before my first result… Predict me in these final few ambiguous days!

Well, I got into Harvard yesterday! The only two other schools that I’m guaranteed to apply to now are UVA and Duke. I may toss in Stanford or Yale if the finaid isn’t wonderful. It appears there will probably be co-champions!

Wait did you end up going to TJHSST.

Randomly found your post in one of those threads lol.

EDIT: nvm saw class size, guess not going to TJ panned out well for you.

Nope, I stayed at my slightly-above-average public school. Best decision I ever made.

DUDE, AWESOME JOB ON HARVARD. you soooo deserve it. I just got into Emory yesterday :)

Yeah congrats! By the way, I love this new format. I hope it becomes a thing.

@tyrtle: Thank you so much! Congrats on Emory!

@DukeHopeful: Thanks, I hope so too!

I should not even post, but I admit I don’t get why people are so excited to predict your chances. What does it matter? Is it for the ego-stroking? Which, to me, seems to be unnecessary - your stats are your stats and you know your stats are well-above average - why would your ego need more stroking? Your achievements should be enough. What do you really get out of this? Maybe everyone in this thread is your personal friend and really cares.

My prediction: I think you will get into at least one of these schools, if not all of these schools, and there is a 100% chance that you will be surrounded by other people who will love to hear you talk about how successful you are, as long as you will be willing to listen to them talk about how successful they are (and I am sure you will.)

In the meantime, while you are all safe within the confines of the proverbial (as well as actual) ivory tower, chancing each other about some college assignment or semester final, the world will continue to spin, people will be born, people will live, people will die, governments will continue to abuse their power, and you and your classmates will vote for more Democrat nirvana in 2014 and 2016.

Even if you get into all of these schools, what are you going to do once you are there that will make any difference to anyone in this world? That is what I am most interested in. But, I am an old fuddy duddy, informed by the world of what is, and not so focused anymore on the world of what if. And, of course, that would be for another thread - the “What I Plan To Do To Change The World” thread. I cannot wait :)

@chesterton: While I’m not sure why you chose to pinpoint my thread out of the countless chance threads on this forum, I’ll go ahead and respond.

Firstly, this is an anonymous forum, and I gain nothing from posting my profile here. I’ve been a CC member for a few years now, and it’s almost a tradition to post a chance thread. Instead of posting a run-of-the-mill thread, I figured I’d turn my thread into something that would be of more use to future applicants. It is in fact useful for others to see what kind of students are accepted to certain schools. Looking back at decision threads was absolutely helpful for me; I discovered some glaring weaknesses and then tried to improve upon them. Most other chance threads do not include results and thus are not very useful at all.

Secondly, this is a game. It’s fun. People predict all sorts of things–football records, presidential electoral votes, etc.–and gain enjoyment from seeing how close their predictions were to the actual results. If you don’t find that fun, that’s your prerogative; you don’t have to kill the fun for everyone else. Excuse me for trying to turn an otherwise stressful process into a more light-hearted experience.

I have really mixed feelings on your acceptance. On one hand, congrats!!! Good to see you hard work pay off.

On the other hand this means my prediction was wrong. -.-

An update: Aside from Harvard and UVA, I applied to Yale, Stanford, Princeton, and Duke.

Predictions are still being accepted (though at this point you can’t receive credit for Harvard, of course).
