I am glad to finish submitting applications to my dream schools.
Now what i can do is to wait till March 10th!

Btw, I am not from wealthy family, I need to rely on FA heavily.
Do you think I have chance to get in above super elite schools with FA?
Oh I forgot to tell I am applying for 9th grade! Thanks!

Essay & Interview
I did not visit school but interviewed in my hometown. Over all it went good. They are very easy to talk and nice interviewers.
Essays was my favorite part of application as I love writing!

Financial Aid:
Need to rely on almost 100%.... (T.T)

Can't say more than you are Def in the running with really good credentials.

Exeter, SPS, and Andover I think are Need Blind. There you will not need to worry too much about needing full FA, not needing any FA may give someone a slight edge there I don't know.

Schools need the highest Acceptance accepted rate (So they want the highest percent of everyone they accepted to go there) if they think your need cannot be satisfied they may reject you based on that, that is what happened to someone I know but it was not a NE school. He basically told me:
In a Need Blind school: Not needing FA helps but needing does not hurt you at all; benefit from not needing the FA is very insignificant
Non Need Blind: Needing FA will hurt you, a little, not needing won't help quite a lot...

Oh and you can always ask Bill Gates to donate 50 million $ for you to donate to your top choice :)

What are your concerns? If it's FA you shouldn't worry about that since you can't change the fact that you need it. Just try and apply to need blind schools. Otherwise, you obviously can tell you are highly competitive and have a great chance. That being said, with a 20% ish acceptance rate noone can guarantee anyone admission. Good luck!

My friend in Andover told me whole school is penny pinching to save money.
Water, elec. etc., you name it.
I think recent global economic issue is causing BS to save money.
I am afraid even A/E are need blind, current economic situation might shadow their decision.... hope NOT!!

I have been raising the fund for my program, but I found it is far more difficult this year than previous two years. Economy is really slowing down.

Everyone look up ChaosTheory here on CC. I remember reading a little vingnette he wrote about what he thinks the adcoms do during February that made me laugh out loud. He seemed like such an amazing kid. I was not accepted anywhere and for the life of me, I don't understand it. I think he may have resurfaced as pyroclasm (but not sure).

I only bring this up to remind everyone that we don't make the decisions. If I were in charge, I would admit rockthepanda....seems like the kind of kid I would like to know. But I'm not in charge. Nobody knows what March 10th will bring. I will be really surprised if most of the CCers here don't get at least some good news. We've all done everything we can and it is now out of our hands.

neatoburrito, you are right. I have done all I could do. I just wait for the judgment.
I am confident that I am OK even I am not in.
There are lots of things which is not under my control and that the rule of life.
I learned from many leaders I interviewed that even successful people have experienced numerous rejections. Handling the rejections positively and keeping hope high are important when you see the life in long span.

At same time, knowing decision is possibly life changing for kid like me (who are not from prestigious family background) , I admit I am bits nervous. When I think getting FA and study such prestigious school with great class mates..... Oh,,, that is my dream comes true!!

Anyway, I guess most of us had done everything. Having chat on the board is good way to release stress of long waiting till 3/10 and getting most fun out of this application experience... I guess :)

Any comments are welcomed. Wish all of us get great experience from application process! (and hope you will be IN to your dream school!)

ooops. thank you for correcting me..
Those are careless mistakes. (actually I do a lot unless I pay attention, it is probably mentioned in my recs.... (T.T)

I'm not sure about Andover/Choate, but I know that Exeter is needs blind so the financial aid situation you have won't affect your chances there...

On FA, every year Choate also provides 4-year scholarships providing full tuition for 10 students with demonstrated need and strong academics. I think its called the Icahn Scholars program. I'm not sure how one applies, but you may want to look into it.

first of all, you are great. second, p.e and p.a are need blind. i know at least two girls who were not as great as you are were admitated to p.e and p.a. with full f.a. last year.
besides, a person who has credentials as you do, whereever end up with, will certainly has a bright future. good luck.

Wow, glad you're not applying to any of the schools I am (not as to say there won't also be people who have similar stats, but still, one less does make me feel slightly better). Ha, just wondering, what level piano are you?

Amazing EC's and standardized test scores. Your application is incredible, basically perfect.

You need financial aid...
Andover and SPS are both NOT need blind. These schools are making significant cuts in their spending. Needing 100% FA is pretty unfortunate. That alone may determine your admission decision.

I also noticed that you do not participate in the athletics. Schools are interested in accepting student athletes.

Other than those 2 things, your application is what most students dream of.
