A few questions about pitzer

I’m very interested in Pitzer. I have a few questions.

I’m planning on visiting Pitzer this summer. When I visit do i have to have a interview right there and then? Would my visit influence my admissions, like the type of questions i ask the tour guide, etc?

Do I have to live there for all four years?

Are we allowed to have supplement recommendations, like from a community service head or such?

For one of the recommendations, it says it has to be from a couselor, principal, etc. Honestly I don’t know them that well. In fact i had a different counselor each year but I was switch and one resigned. How would this affect me?

How and where can i learn more about Pitzer instead of reading posts about it and information on their website?

Thanks again!

You can wait to do an interview until a later time if you like, but they are stopping interviews in December. They don't keep track of what you ask the tour guides. You don't have to live on campus all four years, but you can, and most do. Sure, you can have extra recommendations. Basically the counselor rec needs to be someone who has access to your full academic record. The best way to learn more is to come to campus.

One more thing if you may.

How do they use senior grades in the admissions process.

They look at anything that you send them. If senior grades are ready, they look. But they also check the classes that you are taking too.

Lastly how would you describe Pitzer's curriculum in comparison to the UCs and other private school? Will it also suit one who aspires to major in a science? Do most graduate on time?

EDIT: How about the schools resources?

sorry for so many questions.

The Pitzer curriculum has FAR fewer requirements than UCs and fewer than the average private school. At Pitzer you take a wide variety of classes that are often more specific than classic Intro classes common at UCs, and there are NO required classes, only required fields. There are a significant number of science majors at Pitzer, many of whom are pre-med. I don't know the graduation rate of science majors. Look at the Claremont Joint Science Center: Joint Science Department of the Claremont Colleges
