Essay about how my best friend who passed last year influenced me the most.

What can I do to prepare for my audition? I have an audition for MT and Acting on January 29th.

What about monologues? I’m confused. On the site it says one classical, one modern, but when I went for a tour the man said nothing about a classical. And do I sing two contrasting songs as well?

Thanks!

Academically you sound that you have a lot going for you, you hopefully won’t have a problem! :)

2/3. For the MT audition you need to come prepared to dance as well as to look presentable to sing and act. So make sure you bring appropriate attire for both. You need to prepare 2 contrasting songs on the website it says to pick 2 contrasting pieces, 32 bar cuts. And one contemporary monologue but you will only be asked to sing one song selection, more than likely they will obviously want to hear your second song and if asked to do your monologue.
It also says, which from what I know is the most important.

“We suggest that you choose material that will best show us YOU. Not how high you sing or how loud you belt – but what you are made of. Find material that you respond to in an emotional way. We strive to nurture your individuality and what makes you unique, so show us who you are!”

 • That is right from the Audition page on the PACE website. Its the perfect thing for you all to know.

The Acting audition is a lot different you will more than likely do both contrasting monologues, now that can mean Classical and Contemporary, it could mean serious and comedic or even stylized/realistic. Its up to you, but they both should be from PUBLISHED works and you should know the plays very as well, and know where that moment fits within the plot.

Good luck and I will see you January 29th!

We have a show of Factory Girls, (our Pace New Musical) that night so I hope you can arrange to see that as well while you visit.
