A few questions

I've recently applied, been admitted, and now intend on attending UI for Fall 2012, but before then I've got a few questions for people who've been in this position before.

How much financial aid does UI provide? I'm currently looking at the "Advantage Iowa Award" and "UI Tuition Scholarship". I've already got the "National Scholars Award" but I'm curious as to the amounts I'll likely receive for the financial need based scholarships that I qualify for.

I'm a 1st generation Chinese-American from Florida, parents never got a 4 year degree, and my parents make ~$36,000 combined, and my RAI is 322.

How's the Honors Program and Business School?

I was Directly Admitted into the two, so I'm curious as to how they are, I've read up a bit, but I'd like to know from people themselves.

What are the odds of a Freshman being able to get a single room in Daum?

The FAQ says that upperclassman get first picks, so I'm wondering if there's any chance at all in Daum since it's already a pretty small hall, but I intend to join the Honors Living Learning Community, which in itself might seem a bit contradictory, but hey.

Thanks for reading and hopefully responding.

Hi HC…congratulations on your admission and on your decision to attend Iowa!

I cannot comment on the business school. I believe you have a good shot at financial aid, but in terms of what to expect, you might try to contact the financial aid office directly.

Likewise regarding the housing office on your question about a single in Daum, I am guessing these are difficult to get as a freshman, but you can check with the housing dept.-- hopefully you already submitted your housing application - if not, do it right away).

In general when you have questions, you should email or phone the appropriate department at Iowa after first checking if your answer is on the web site – the Iowa administration is very responsive.

Good luck!
