1)How much harder would it be to make a 3.7+ GPA as a biology major at UT Austin than at Texas A&M?

2)How hard would it be to go to ACC for a semester and then transfer into UT Austin considering I had all the credits and a good GPA?

3)How behind would I be if I transferred into UT Austin from ACC after one semester?

4)Would Medical schools frown upon going to a community college for one semester?

Basically, I was capped at UT, accepted at A&M, and I realized that I want to stay in Austin. I want to major in biology and then go onto medical school. I don't want to go to college station, so my other option is to go to ACC and then transfer to UT. Although I don't want that decision to jeopardize my chances for medical school. I know staying at A&M would be a lot more comfortable (no plus/minus grading system, less competition/course rigor etc.), but I really want to stay in Austin. Also, don't remind me about the CAP program, I don't want to go to San Antonio for a year if I could go to ACC in austin for half of a year.

If you can answer anything, I'd be grateful.

1-dunno
2 thru 4 - You will just take basic fresh/soph level classes at ACC so it should not impact med school review, but your transcript will be stronger for med school application process if you save your bio and chem for UT. (With that said, I know some premed folks like to pick up some of their basic sciences at ACC, so you will get different opinions on that issue. All I know is, getting into med school has become so competitive, every decision you make should be based on whether it makes you more or less competitive.) You have to have 30 hours to transfer to UT, so obviously can’t do it after one semester at ACC unless you also have a ton of credit from APs, etc. Please spend time on the UT transfer site to learn more.
You are being awfully stubborn about not being in Austin for one CAP year! It’s your right, of course, but be sure you are digging in for the right reasons! Your next four years needs to be a grind to make the highest possible GPA. You will have to work harder and smarter than you did in HS. So be sure you are insisting on ACC as your only choice for reasons that will help you get there instead of distract you from your goal! Just sayin’. ;)
