<p>I know community service is about helping out your community, but what about things like doing online work/volunteer for a non-profit organization & answering calls for a local helpline?</p>
<p>for application purposes, there is usually a section that says "work experience," in which case you'd put it there. i think i put my volunteer work as an EC because i didn't want it to be mistaken for a paid job, because they're different.</p>
<p>and what you said still counts as community service, or you could just call it volunteer work because that's what you did. :)</p>
