A few questions..

I know this probably isn't the proper place, but seeing as I don't know where the proper place is, I'll post it here.

How do you go about taking AP courses if your school doesn't offer them? Is there another way?

Also, if I was to retake the ACT and take the SAT but I am applying to Georgetown (deadline Jan 10), do I put the dates that I would take these and then send in the scores as I get them even if they are received around February/March?

What is a good college essay about, what is a good length, and does anyone know of a site that will help critique college essays?

Sorry but these are things that are just killing me and I'm so stressed it is giving me a headache so if anyone has the time to answer these I would greatly appreciate it.

For your first question, you can self study AP Exams. Take a look at this thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/ap-tests-preparation/369861-self-studying-aps-improving-your-app.html

2 and 3 I have no idea, sorry.

Thanks Avman. Is it too late though?

Stanford offers APs online. Many take community college classes instead.

500 words is an ideal essay length, 700 max. What you want to do is give adcom insight into who you are and what you'll bring to the table. I would post on the parent forum here to ask for help reviewing your essay or PM some parents whose posts you find reliale.

I made a post in the parent forum. Thanks hmom5. I'm really glad that there are so many helpful people on here. Makes the college process sooooo much easier.
