A few quick questions before submit

Hey guys,

I have a few questions about the Penn-specific app

Is there any limit on the margins we must use? I tried .75 all around for mine to fit everything on one page, and it looked fine after the PDF conversion.

Also, is our print-out EXACLTY what the admissions officers will see? If so, some of the extra curricular description is cut off, even though I filled them up to their limit on the application. For example, it'll say:

High school marching band - Winner of WFirst Trumpet (11-12)

The place where the W and F meet is where the description got cut off =/. Is this okay?

One more thing...did anyone find it really difficult to fit all their extra-curriculars, work experience, and awards onto the given lines? I had a few that I had to omit because there was no place to put them

ty for any input

One more thing...did anyone find it really difficult to fit all their extra-curriculars, work experience, and awards onto the given lines? I had a few that I had to omit because there was no place to put them

Yeah I had to omit a lot

DEFINITELY had to omit a lot (sigh).

Don't think of it as omitting information. Think of it as only including the "best" information - the activities, work, and awards that matter the most to you.

^ Yes I agree, especially because other applicants will be showing the same amount of information (except for those CommonApp'ers)

So did you guys fill up the amount of space they gave you in each box? Because the information gets cut off when you print it out..

They would rather that you list 5 big things than 20 little things - more is not better.

The total time they spend reading your application is maybe 1/2 hr (remember they get 20,000 of these) - giving them too much to read is not in your interest and itself says something (not good) about your personality. If you can't sell yourself in the alloted space, adding more about how you are a member of the knitting and backgammon club ain't gonna make the sale.
