–Don’t put your job before school
–Nobody cares how prestigious your school is. In fact, going to a very selective school may give off a very negative, elitist impression. Choose a school that you’d love regardless of its name.
–Accept that there are many many schools that you could be happy at.
–Don’t associate your worth with your admissions decisions
–If you’re going to try alcohol or drugs, do thorough research and never just try something someone handed to you at a party. Just because your edible has sprinkles on it doesn’t mean it’s harmless.
–There’s a million ways to take meaning from events. Everyone has a storyline they’ve made for themselves, but there’s no need to fit every event into that plot. A rejection doesn’t need to validate that you’re incapable and a bad grade doesn’t need to validate that you’re lazy and a failure. If you don’t like your actions, just change. Everyone goes through this frustration.
–A high SAT score can do a lot, but it can’t make you successful. So study up but stay smiling
