a free period aka study hall during [1st semester] senior year affects admission?

I'll complete all AP courses at my school except for AP physics. I stand top 5% at my school and have good SAT score. I'm planning to take a free period a.k.a study hall instead of taking a ramdom class. Do you think it'll affect an application/admission? [I've acknowleged that admission includes many factors, i.e gpa, sat, extra-cur, etc.]

please give comments....many thanks!

Take the random class.

None of the applications have a spot for schedules. I doubt the school would ever find out.

^...... it's on your transcript.

your councilor will get to check
-most demanding
-very demanding
...

What's on the transcript, study hall or your schedule?
They're not on ours so I guess that varies by school.

I would focus on getting the highest GPA possible. If you feel that you can handle the extra class then I would take it. If your high school does not include it on the transcript then I would not take it, unless it is a class that interests you.

Cowrun is definately right. Most demanding vs. Very demanding. If everyone in your school takes study hall, and you do too, your curriculum won't be more demanding than everyone. Well, like, whatever. Take the class. You have to prove that you can handle the extra class on top of all the APs. Think of it like all the APs are your classes at Harvard, and then the extra class is your extra curricular, which Harvard definately wants you to pursue. But if you know you'll do reallllllly bad, maybe you shouldn't. Idk, its up to you. Good luck!!!!

I have the same worry! At my school, study hall is compulsory if you take more than 3 APs..let's hope it doesn't affect us too badly!

Eh, I had study hall & art class the first semester and I was still admitted to MIT early action anyway. But this semester, I don't have study hall and art class anymore, because those two are replaced by two math classes.

Take the class if you want to. or you can just relax during senior year.
