a free period aka study hall during [1st semester] senior year affects admission?

I'll complete all AP courses at my school except for AP physics. I stand top 5% at my school and have good SAT score. I'm planning to take a free period a.k.a study hall instead of taking a ramdom class. Do you think it'll affect an application/admission? [I've acknowleged that admission includes many factors, i.e gpa, sat, extra-cur, etc.]

please give comments....many thanks!

Technically no, since your guidance counselor will still check off the "most rigorous" schedule available box on the school forms. Colleges have no way of knowing you even have a free period. The fact that you aren't taking AP Physics when it is available might have a slight negative effect though.

Not taking AP Physics is fine as long as you take a college course or an AP course online. I took all the AP courses I could take from my high school except Spanish (instead, I took 4 semesters of college French) and Physics (instead, I took AP Chemistry).

It won't matter, and not taking AP Physics is fine.

I was admitted SCEA for Class of 2013
And I had Early Release [Senior Year ][ You leave school 90 Mins Earlier ]
On top of that, I took P.E. over AP Spanish [ Senior Year ]
I never took any level of physics in high school.

I hope that helps!

You have the option to take P.E. over Spanish? You have the option to leave school an hour and a half early senior year? That's ****ing awesome, is that typical?

sure its typical... what school forces you to take ap spanish or language??? both high schools i've been to let seniors check out early if they wish.

Just keep in mind that colleges REQUIRE that you report any class you drop during senior year. Most people try to drop at the semester. Read the fine print.

Also, there was a student at our school last year that had two "late starts" allowing her to show up at 10 AM everyday. She got in Yale & Stanford. Almost all of the seniors have at least one late start.
