hey, I go to a private boarding school in CT and we don't require year-long art courses... so I've taken 3 one-term courses over my time here (photography, acting, video) but not in sequence. I was wondering if this means I cannot apply to the U-C system after all?

I'm having trouble finding the answer to this on the U-C site. Would love to know what the answer is.

Thanks,

term = 1/4 of a year?

the sequencing is not important, i.e., you could take one semester one year and the second semester in another academic year. But, the UC's do require it be one full year in the same course, at least for in-state apps. If your HS does not offer same, you could also take a course at a local community college.

"Q: To meet the year-long VPA course requirement, is it acceptable for a student to take the first semester of a year-long course one year and the second semester another year?

A: Yes. Students must be exposed to one year of VPA course content in the same arts discipline (i.e., drama, dance, music, visual arts) regardless of which year the first and second semesters are taken, but the semesters must be taken in sequence. "
