I was wondering whether colleges calculate and A- if the school an applicant comes from does not have the grade. I currently have a 93.5 in AP US and I am wondering whether this will ruin my 4.0 unweighted that I've maintained otherwise? So do colleges recalculate to an A- and if so, where is that cut off?

It’s going to depend on the college. And generally speaking, the difference between an A and A- isn’t going to affect your application.

So colleges recalculate the gpa, right? Because I know I hand in a gpa on the transcript.

Take a chill pill.

Not only is an A- perfectly fine, but a 93.5 is an A (not an A-) in the vast majority of grading systems.
