A-Level Credits

One of UW’s policies on A-Levels is “In general, up to 15 quarter credits will be granted for each A-level exam with a passing grade.” For those of you taking A-Levels this year or who are current students at UW who took A-Levels at high school, does this mean you receive credits for passing a specific A-Level subject with a grade A-E? Because grades A-E are technically recognized as a pass at A-Level.

It would be really shocking to see an A level student being given that kind of credit for an E grade in e.g. chemistry, most AP and IB credits are grade dependant, depending on the rigour of the university though, I think you should write and seek confirmation that the credits apply whether you have an A or an E. IB HLs have to be over a 5, it would be a glaring difference if they didn’t expect the A level grade to be a credit worth c or above seeing as how HLs would be pretty similar to A levels.

if it were to be a C or above to receive credits, that would be very misleading on their part since it doesn’t state that anywhere.

For sure, and that omission is worth clarifying. Again. this might be just about the university’s rigour and maybe an E at A level is good enough for credit.
