help with GPA conversion!
GP A 80
maths B 77
physics B 79
chemistry C 65
economics C 65

Bad luck with maths and physics mate ! I dont think we need to convert grades to gpa .
A level grades are NOTHING like the grades you get at High School. Just submit your A/AS level certificates to the school or ask each school directly about what to do. The A levels are pretty popular and I’m pretty sure the college officials know how to interpret your grades just fine.

can u just calculate estimated gpa so i can be sure if i am qualified for some merit scholarships!

2.8 out of 4.0 according to the standards set by some top liberal arts colleges.

According to Fulbright,

3.4 out of 4.3. Which is approximately 3.2 out of 4.0.

If we distinguish between A and AS Levels (which colleges do), then:

3.33/4.3, which is approximately 3.1 GPA. (FULBRIGHT)

U can calculate a rough estimate. Ive posted this before. Search in the threads. But i can do urs. B is equal to A- or 3.7 and C is equal to B or 3.0
Urs would be (3.7+3.7+3.0+3.0)/4=3.35
This would be ur UW
Add a point to each subject to calculate Weighted since A level is equal to AP.
Weighted=(4.7+4.7+4.0+4.0)/4=4.35
Again this is not exact due to rigor of A levels and unis do not convert either

My calculations are according to the CIE website just so u know

Please post a link of where CIE writes that a B is equivalent to 3.7?

The Fulbright Commission in the UK writes that a B ~ 3.3-3.7, so it’s best to take 3.5 as the conversion for B.

Additionally, colleges that calculate GPA’s for intl students specify that B = 3.0.

http://www.cie.org.uk/docs/recognition/AICE%20FAQs%20Factsheet.pdf

My fault. It says B is equal to A- or B+. The website i read it off which claimed as according to cie used the A- for calculation. Nevertheless, no matter what number u used, the gpa calculated still cant compare as i mentioned before. Nor do universities try to convert it to gpa. They read it as is

If u were to calculate it, i would calculate using both the 3.3 and 3.7 in order to get a range ur gpa could fall in

thank you all for the reply but u guys are turning me crazy! is it ok to assume 3.3 out of 4 as my rough gpa?

mind you, he has not included GP. that would increase your estimated GPA. however i recommend you find the range as he suggested, and assume the midway GPA as your GPA.

Oh, i didnt see that subject

Hey guys,
I am having trouble converting my A-Level grades to GPA. Could you guys please help me out.
My grades are:
Physics : A
Chemistry : B
Maths : C
and GP: C

P.s: Will including my GP score lower my GPA? Can I not include my GP scores?

I can calculate it for your but i need to know your GCSE results. When it comes to GPA, it includes your weighted and unweighted. Unweighted is your GCSE, and weighted is GCSE + AS LEVEL

can you please post a link to the CIE page that converts A Levels grades to GPA
