A Liberal's Dream...COME TRUE!!!

I just met, shook hands, talked, and got pictures with:

tony blair (Current Prime Minister of Great Britain)
bill clinton (42nd President of the United States)
phil angelides (CA State Treasurer/Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate)
gavon newcomb (mayor of SF)
antonio villaraigosa (mayor of LA)
ken livingston (mayor of london)
alex padilla (LA City Councilman)
rocky delgadillo (LA City Attorney)
magic johnson (LA Basketball Star/Community Leader)
steve westly (Former Gubernatorial Candidate)

ALL TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(just thought I should share)

How? (10 char)

Where........?

UCLA (Anderson School of Business) + Beverly Hilton Hotel

Most liberals probably aren't too keen on meeting Tony Blair nowadays...after the whole war thing, you know. The rest look representative, though.

wow
!
congratulations :D

Wow, ****...I was just at UCLA TODAY!!!!!! OMG!@?!@?#!@#

When where they there?

omg, you're so lucky!! was hillary clinton there as well?

The UCLA event was an invite-only thing, so it was VERY difficult to get in. The organization I'm interning with knew about the event and arranged for me to be on the list, but even then the Secret Service still gave me a hard time about it.

The Beverly Hilton event was a fundraiser (Angelides raised $4 million dollars that night I heard!) Every big name in politics and/or Hollywood was there. Tons of celebrities (whom I didn't shmooze with as much, I didn't wanna lose my place at the front of the podium) were there as well... The dinner was something like $1,000 dollars a plate, so you can imagine how good the food must've been! (no, I didn't pay for that event either...a friend made a call to a friend and arranged for my name to be on that list as well...I'm getting the hang of this asking for favors business :) )

Anyway, it was pretty much the most amazing experience of my life...facebook pictures will be posted shortly!

Btw: Although Hillary wasn't there (she's apparently at some bi-partisan event w/John McCain in some remote place), Bill (we're on a first name basis already, hehe) took every opportunity to mention what she was up to.

Also: I talked with Phil Angelides' staff and got their contact info, so look for him to come to Berkeley and speak this semester (most likely in the PS 179 class).

I asked Clinton if he would come as well, and he said that he would love to, he was just there a few years ago ("Berkeley? You go to Berkeley? Hell, I love Berkeley, I was there a few years ago!") Buttt.....I really doubt that he'll be coming to Berkeley anytime soon, especially with him commanding $100,000 dollars for every speaking engagement. He joked that he didn't have a nickel to his name until he left the White House...and at 100k per night, it's probably true!

oh my god **** you that's so hot

oops, I just noticed that I misspelled our wonderful Mayor of SF's name (in haste!)

Gavin NEWSOM

:D

"The dinner was something like $1,000 dollars a plate, so you can imagine how good the food must've been! "

ahaha, it's 1000 because it's a fundraiser dude, not cause the food is super amazing

well zhgiu, if you're donating 1000 bux, they aren't going to feed you crap food. at those expensive banquets they feed you well

Really cool, slicmlic2001, congrats. :)

"well zhgiu, if you're donating 1000 bux, they aren't going to feed you crap food. at those expensive banquets they feed you well"

the food probably really costs 50 bucks each, AT THE MOST 100. People don't go for the food.
