Hi everyone :]; I'm a Junior and would definitely classify myself as a Student-Athlete.
I run Cross Country and Track and am interested in running in college, but would also like the benefits of a respected degree. I'm considering the pre-optometry route, but history has always been a passion of mine (I'm just not sure what options a history degree presents career-wise).

I've taken most of the most challenging courses in my high school and have a 4.0 with a rank of 3/341. I'm involved in all kinds of activities such as National Honor Society, Pride Committee, Academic Quiz Team, Environmental Club (Officer), Language Club, Freshman Kick-Off Mentor, and I co-lead a student prayer group.

I visited Lehigh University and LOVED it; the coach was marvelous and I would fit right in to their program. The only bad thing is that they offer ~7 athletic scholarships to their entire athletic department and tuition isn't cheap. I would be competitive, but not enough of a standout to receive one of 7 scholarships. I have also received some mail from some DIII schools such as Dickinson and Washington & Jefferson. They look interesting, but do schools like those offer enough academic aid that an academic scholarship would in DI or DII? (I'm not necessarily only looking for full tuition or anything, but I'd like to explore the scholarship options available.)

I live in Ohio, but I like to try to things and meet new people (distance from home isn't really a restrictive factor for me). Although I wouldn't rule the big schools out, I would like to be at a school where I am seen as more than a number. Small class sizes would be preferable. It doesn't necessarily have to be an awesome college town. I realize that I haven't taken my ACT or SAT yet... I will take those in April and May. I'm not an outstanding test taker, but I scored a 190 on the PSAT.

What are some colleges that you would recommend?
